On Wednesday, August 13th, 2025, PLAN Health Advocacy and Development Foundation (PLAN Foundation), with support from MiracleFeet, successfully convened a One-Day Strategic Meeting with Chief Medical Directors (CMDs) from across Oyo State.

The high-level engagement, held in Ibadan, brought together key decision-makers and healthcare leaders from major hospitals and health institutions to deliberate on strategies for expanding and sustaining Clubfoot Clinics across the state. The meeting served as a crucial platform to foster collaboration between PLAN Foundation, the Oyo State Ministry of Health, the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, and other critical stakeholders in the health sector.

Discussions focused on the current landscape of clubfoot services, identification of service gaps, and actionable plans to improve early detection, referral, and access to quality treatment for children born with clubfoot. The CMDs reaffirmed their commitment to integrate clubfoot management into their hospital systems and pledged institutional support toward capacity building, awareness creation, and resource mobilization.

At the meeting the Executive Director PLAN Foundation emphasized the importance of sustainability, data-driven interventions, and stakeholder collaboration in achieving universal access to clubfoot care. He highlighted that strengthening local health systems and empowering medical professionals are essential to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to walk, play, and thrive without disability.

The meeting concluded with a collective resolution to commence and operationalize new Clubfoot Clinics across Oyo State marking a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to eliminate preventable disabilities and improve child health outcomes.

This initiative shows PLAN Foundation’s enduring commitment to inclusive healthcare, evidence-based advocacy, and community-centered interventions.

Together with MiracleFeet, PLAN is building healthier futures, for our children one step at a time.
