PLAN Foundation - The Family First!
You are welcome to the website of PLAN Health Advocacy and Development Foundation (PLAN Foundation).
As one of the few PLHIV support groups in the growing Network of People Living With HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN), PLAN had the responsibility of midwifing the establishment, mentoring, and nurturing of several support groups in the Southwestern region of Nigeria thrust at it soon after its emergence.
A visit to our website promises to be a journey into PLAN Foundation’s achievements, activities, and affiliations. There is also ample opportunity for active interaction and exchange of information with the visitor to the website as well as linkage to further information, online resources, and regular updates on programs, events, and trending issues on health and development as they affect the individual, family, community and the world at large.
One world! We are all in it together!
PLAN Foundation had the honour of hosting a delegation of Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre (WARDC), led by its Executive Director, Dr. Abiola Akiyode, along with Mrs. Christiana Omidiji, the WARDC Oyo State Focal Person, who were accompanied by two members of their team. It was a highly engaging and insightful session as the visiting team and PLAN Foundation staff shared perspectives on strategies to reduce maternal mortality, with particular emphasis on the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH). Discussions highlighted the critical role of time tested community engagement strategies for facilitating timely access to appropriate medications and evidence-based interventions for drastically reducing maternal deaths in Oyo State and beyond. The visit strengthened our shared commitment to improving maternal health outcomes and advancing quality reproductive health services for women across Oyo State. PLAN Foundation and WARDC are planning to put in place a Memorandum of Understanding that would provide for closer collaboration on joint interventions for promoting increased demand for and access to drugs for treating postpartum hemorrhage in women especially in urban slums and hard-to-reach rural areas in Oyo State. We sincerely appreciate the visit which signifies our joint commitment and dedication to safeguarding the lives of mothers.
Yesterday, PLAN Foundation convened a Planning and Implementation Team Meeting under the ACCESS Project in Ibadan, Oyo State. The meeting featured a sensitization session focused on expanding sexual and reproductive health services for women, girls, and young people, alongside a value clarification exercise for stakeholders. The engagement strengthened collaboration and reaffirmed our shared commitment to improving access to quality reproductive health services across Oyo State. #ACCESSProject #SRH #PLANFoundation #OyoState
