Dear Colleagues
I wish everyone of us a Happy Labour Day 2025.
The International Workers’ Day, commonly known as Labour Day in many countries and also referred to as May Day, is an annual observance dedicated to honouring workers and the working class. It is celebrated each year on May 1.
I want to use the opportunity of this very important day to express my deepest appreciation and gratitude to you, jointly and severally, for the hard work, support, perseverance, solidarity, dedication, innovativeness and commitment that each and every one of you commits to the organization every day. I am highly honoured to work alongside such an amazing team of brilliant, competent and talented individuals.
Your tireless efforts are the driving force behind our successive successes in all the projects, activities and interventions of PLAN Health Advocacy and Development Foundation (PLAN Foundation) and I’m proud to be associated with such a talented and passionate team.
Today, we recognize the value and dignity of labour, and the significant contributions that workers make to our society. I am proud of the work we do at PLAN Foundation, and the positive impact that we have made and keep making on humanity.
I want to emphasize the fact that, as the Chief Executive Officer of PLAN Foundation, I am definitely not the perfect CEO, but I take my leadership of the organization very seriously and passionately. I have a deep sense of responsibility over and to every one of us in the organization, the communities we serve as well as the various partners and donors who place so much trust in us by funding our programs and projects.
Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge. I want to assure you that your welfare, professional and career development as well as the wellbeing of you and your families are always paramount in my mind at all times.
I strongly believe that you would contribute more and much better towards achieving the mission of our organization when you are happy, healthy, competent and skilled. It is therefore my responsibility to do all within my capacity and capabilities to keep everyone in the organization safe, healthy, happy, skilled and competent. I want to assure you that I do not take this responsibility lightly.
Let us therefore take this day to celebrate our numerous achievements and successes while looking forward to the future with even more dedication, enthusiasm and optimism that PLAN Foundation will continue to soar higher and higher in our joint endeavour to make the world a better place for all.
I’m grateful for your dedication, and I solemnly promise to continue working together with you towards a brighter future for us all.
