PLAN Health Advocacy and Development Foundation (PLAN Foundation) recently spearheaded a dynamic and inclusive one-day multi-stakeholder rapid assessment and consultative session. The primary objective of this groundbreaking initiative was to meticulously identify the root causes of unsafe abortion in Oyo State, fostering meaningful dialogues and facilitating the formulation of a comprehensive, collaborative response to address this pressing issue effectively.

Participants hailed from various sectors, including Teachers and Students, Parents/Teachers Associations (PTAs), Traditional Birth Attendants, Proprietors of Private Hospitals, Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Oyo State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Law Enforcement Agencies, Patent Medicine Vendors, Community Pharmacists, Traditional/Herbal Medicine Practitioners, Committees on Health, Justice, Education, and Women Affairs of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Religious Leaders, Women Journalists, and officials from the Ministries of Education, Women Affairs, Health, and Justice. The event also saw the participation of key entities such as the Oyo State Hospitals Management Board, Oyo State Primary Healthcare Development Board, and the Department of Nursing at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, among other distinguished contributors.
