Introduction

The quarterly meeting of the Project Working Group (PWG) for the EMBASSY Project was held on August 27th  at the Board Room of the Oyo State Agency for Persons with Disabilities. The meeting was conducted in person, with full attendance by all PWG members. Key attendees included Mrs. Oniyide Roseline and Mr. Lawal Kayode, representatives of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Oyo State Chapter, and Evangelist Olu Kayode, representing the Oyo State Agency for Persons with Disabilities (OYAPD).

Staff members from PLAN Foundation also actively participated in the meeting.

Key Highlights and Achievements

The Senior Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer from PLAN Foundation presented a comprehensive update on the progress of the Eliminating Multiple Barriers to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Services Among Young Girls and Women with Disabilities (EMBASSY) Project. The presentation highlighted key milestones achieved during  implementation and  ongoing  efforts  to  strengthen  inclusive  access  to  SRH services.

A major achievement was the review and analysis of referral data, focusing on the number of cases successfully linked to Primary Health Care (PHC) facilities. This process helped identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improving referral pathways.

The session also explored strategies to promote sustained utilization of SRH services beyond the project lifespan, with emphasis on increasing community awareness, strengthening PHC capacity to deliver disability-inclusive services, and fostering long- term collaboration among community structures, health facilities, and relevant stakeholders.

CONCLUSION

The meeting concluded with a strong reaffirmation of commitment from all Project Working Group (PWG) members to continue advancing the EMBASSY Project’s mission. Stakeholders pledged to sustain inclusive advocacy efforts, promote sexual and reproductive health rights, and strengthen access to quality and disability-inclusive SRH services for persons with disabilities across Oyo State, even beyond the project’s close- out period.
